Buying a new Hyundai-ix40?

The new Hyundai Sonata (or Hyundai ix40) features a four-door-coupe-like roofline and a big chrome grille similar to the one seen on the new Tucson/ix35. There is even talk that the Hyundai Sonata might be renamed the Hyundai ix-40 for certain markets.

The new Hyundai Sonata will be available with a 2.0-litre Theta II four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. This gives the Sonata a fuel consumption figure of 7.8 litres per 100km.

Further engines will be added to the range, with a V6 engine, and Hyundai´s latest "R" turbo diesels expected to be available for the Sonata soon after.
